When one is spiritually or emotionally unhealthy, it will definitely affect his physical well being and become sick. Our spiritual health as well as our physical health is affected by our fears, negative thoughts, anger, resentment, or abnormal amounts of stress. There are many ministers and alternative health experts who believe that the disease that people encounter today have their roots in spiritual health and well being. It is believed by many people today that there is indeed a link between physical illness and spiritual or emotional factors.
If there is a strong connection between physical health and spiritual health, then we only need to strengthen our spiritual lives so that our bodies can be healed. You will feel great physically, if you feel great spiritually and emotionally. Depending on your attitude while having your illness, it will affect the progress and the duration of your sickness. Keeping our faith in God is still possible during our illnesses, and we can pray to God to help and guide us during this time of uncertainty so that we won’t be fearful.
You alone can judge your spiritual health. You should examine your heart or mind for thoughts of fear, anger, anxiety, unforgiveness, negativity, or other emotions that can harm not only your soul but your body as well. Each person has a predominant emotion that is the one that rules his mind and his life. Holding on to these toxic and negative emotions is exposing your body to become sick eventually. If you want to promote physical healing, you need to rid your mind of emotions that do not promote love, joy, peave, or faith. These positive emotions come from the Spirit of God. If these good emotions from the Spirit fill your heart and overflows with it, then God’s healing door is opened and the emotions that keep you dark spiritually and causes physical illness is removed.
If you maintain good spiritual healthy, you will be better equipped to face the problems around you. If you build your faith in God during uneventful times in your life will help you keep the faith during times when your circumstances and health are challenged.
Reading the Bible, praying, meditating, deep breathing, and others, help to foster spiritual health. If you regularly do these activities, then you will realize that you are becoming healthier emotionally. Bad emotions like fear, anger, and bitterness can be overcome if you do these activities regularly. Those who are able to read the Bible regularly will know of the love and faithfulness of God which is strong enough to conquer the negative emotions in our lives.
Don’t expect healing to be instantaneous even if you have the most positive attitude. But, it allows you more strength to bear the infirmity.
